About the Ride

300 miles | Sacramento to the Sea
September 18-23, 2022

Wildfire Alert: Mosquito Fire

As much as we would have enjoyed riding to Lake Tahoe and back, an ongoing wildfire is preventing us from heading east. Just another reason we need more climate scientists, environmental engineers, etc. We will continue to watch the weather and environmental conditions for further updates.

We will now be headed west from Sacramento to Napa, across the hills to the Pacific, up the Russian River, then one more stop in wine county before heading back into Sacramento.

Please continue to donate and we hope you all follow along on this journey to help us make 2022 wonderful! Cheer on the team and see pictures of daily adventures on Facebook by following Pedal For Women In Science 300.

The Pedal for Women in Science ride is an annual event, and is open to everyone who supports our efforts to provide scholarships for women studying science. Many of the riders are scientists and engineers who believe expanding the field to include more women is good for both men and women. New minds mean new discoveries and new opportunities for all. If you are interested in riding please explore the website further and contact us to learn how you can join.

Our Cause:

It's no secret that a woman's road to success is still largely uphill, especially in fields such as science, engineering and mathematics. We want to do our part to help women pursue their dreams of being scientists and engineers. Our charities provide empowering stepping stones and financial support for girls and women at all stages of their scientific education.
